That would be cool mate, plus I reckon we could get away with simple materials on most of the weapons and vehicles. (excepting icons.)

besides work I have been working on some battlefield roughs and working the ideas of plate sections. In this way it would be like building tiles and have them join in the mid of the road to make it easy for the textures.

Already got to the texture stage of the low detail buildings (for back drops) and working on the city battle book look to the other items. Trying to keep as low poly as I can so it can be loaded up with many models and still have a half way good render speed.

This is the basic style I was after with a Dawn of War styled layout. Have not as yet seen the book you said about but will keep an eye out for it.

Here is a line render of one of them and alot can be done with textures n bump maps Building1 line render.jpg

PS; the manufactorum model could be done in plates and modeled for close ups and texture n bump maps for mid to long range.

Just a few finished ones thrown together for a test render to give an idea.

Backing Buildings.jpg done as blocks that can be played with and damaged top ends that can be added.

Backing Buildings 02.jpg ones like this can have much detail added for troops who are hidden inside,,, like sandbags n the like.

Well the only things left are drop pods and and a thunderhawk or two and imperials are covered from space to ground attack.

Maybe its time for a check list of who has what covered
