Fleets-team looking for modelers!

Hi!

I'm posting this in an attempt to open your eyes for a new Half-Life2 Total Conversion called Fleets.
Fleets is a game designed by the designer and the programmer behind Hostile Intent: Phoenix Rising - News.
Fleets however, is not a regular mod, Fleets takes place in space, with you as the captain over your very own Spaceship, with crews up to the thousands you will make the decisions that could change the course of a battle.
The battlefields are usually centered around large asteroid fields as your mining-corporation fights other corporations (and players) for control over the precious ore to be gathered.
As of now we are currently in discussion over which path to go regarding the view, either we go with a regular 3rd person view of the ship or a first person "bridge-view" where you are the captain and see the battles as a captain would, on the bridge. (there is ofcourse nothing stopping us from doing both if we can get the ammount of talent needed)

Making games, or even modification these days require lots of efforts from the people involved, we know this and we have, for the past year or so, struggled to even complete one single ship model to build the game from.
That's why I'm posting... We need help, we need real modelers, people who knows how to produce completed ships and/or characters, the main assets of the game is what we need. Are you up to the task?

If you are interested contact either:
Charlie on msn charliefxd ('at') hotmail (dot') com
or
baheno on msn tobester_85 ('at') hotmail (dot') com or on mail baheno ('at') gmail (dot') com
(just replace ('at') with @ and (dot') with . and remove any spaces and parentheses)
You can also apply in our forums (which currently requires admin acceptance due to spambots)
you'll find it here: www.screwtape-studios.com :: Index

we are looking for either "permanent" team members or just someone who comes in and creates a model or two.

I just gotta put in a word for these guys. They're a great group to work with and the concept is original (and workable, might I add!).

Good to see you guys found your way here.

thank you for the kind words berticus
but unfortunately they seem to have reached nobody

now, let me convince any doubters out there
You may feel like you'd be locked up with producing ship models for fleets but so isn't the case. What we want is lowpoly models for the ships (the limit is around 5000 triangles for the regular sized ones) but we also want Highpoly versions of them for normalmaps and whatnot, and those have no limits.
You'll ofcourse be able to use the ships you've created in any artwork you'd want to use them in. (unless it's another game).
The most important skills we need you to have are modeling and uv-mapping, if you feel like you can't create nice textures for the ship we can contact some texture artists we have on hold just waiting for something to paint but, we need those Uv-mapped models as this is what's holding us back at the moment.
I've almost finished one of the ships, but I can't create a good enough Uv-map for it since I chose the path of animation instead and thus lack the experience of creating nice uv-maps.
There is no real requirement of what software you are to use, but we'd prefer that you'd use one with a HL2 exporter plugin
If you have any doubts or questions please feel free to either contact me (on the adresses written in my previous post) or simply reply here and I'll do my absolute best to answer.

oh, and please, feel free to check out our Gallery for concepts and some renders
