| 2d Sensei | Fantasy Game Interest (brand new or total MOD)... Hi all, Usually I think a lot before post anything like this in the forum, and, well... I did! I want to know if anyone could be interested in a game project similar to "God of War" or "Devil May Cry" with a fantasy/victorian flavor and a slightly cartoon style? And now a little description... Me and my team-mates were working on a comic book, and we have developed a cool story (but no, I can't describe it now), a quite good looking design and interesting locations and weapons... The (simplified) story is: 3 guys are fighting evil creatures to save the world... It isn't a paid work, but there could be something interesting... Some more info can be found here: Hunters - The Game I can handle: the story, concept art, textures, direction of the FMVs, some modeling, some animations, style and supervision... What I'm looking for: Everything! Modeler, animators, programmers, composers, etc... I know I've tell you few things, but if you could be interested, let me know. At the moment I need only your interest. We could see later if it's possible to develop this project or not... Thanks for your time -Ramiel- |

| SFM Obsessed | Right. I can do base character modeling if I am provided with at least orthos. I can also model other sundries such as environmental pieces, etc. Just drop me a PM and I'll show off some of my character work. [edit]Also, if you would like a professional host I can put you up on my website (under a registered name of your choice; I'll pay for it - it costs all of ten bucks...). No ads or anyhting like that. :P Is there any concept work or anything like that running around? Can we have a basic premise (not a storyline, but perhaps a single element of the story that might draw people in)? [/edit] -albert |

A professional host will be cool, but since I'm not paying anyone I don't want to take advantage of you (even for just ten bucks ).And, yes, there is already some concept art (characters, costumes, weapons...) and I will post something as soon as possible. Quote:

| 2d Sensei | Again... I don't know What could be the best engine for a 3rd person action/adventure game like "God of War"? Like I've already said... I'm a noob! Any experienced people are more than welcome, even if they could give me only some advice, because at the moment I'm still on a "planning" stage... I just want to know if it could be a possible project, or not |

Downloads: 0 Uploads: 0 | hmm... the mod I am working on is using Source. Mainly because it's "supposedly" the most "mod friendly" engine out there... I beg to differ on the word friendly tho cause the source code for it is relatively complex and I have been struggleing for quite some time to figgure out how to do the HUD and other GUI elements. We do, however, plan on making an option eventualy to play your character in third person view mode. It is possible with Source but I haven't looked into it very much yet. A good plus in deciding to use Source is that all you have to do to get the full engine and it's source code is to buy HL2. I also think Battlefield 2 runs off of the Source engine (please correct me if i'm wrong tho). For third person I might suggest the Torque Game Engine. I learned how to mod using the 3D Game Programming All in One book by Kenneth Finney. The book included a full (but unlicenced) version of the Turque engine, and it seemed pretty "third person friendly". I just visited thier main site and found out that the licence costs 150 bucks. The engine is available for download on windows but it appears that they have moved to more of a Macintosh base though. |
