Downloads: 0 Uploads: 0 | Looking for Ships & Stations for Community Game Mod Hi everyone ![]() A small group of people and myself (4 total ATM) are creating a mod for a Space Simulator called X3: Reunion. Right now we only consist of 2 scripters and 2 extremely amateur modelers. And so I was thinking, well how about I try to find out if there is anyone here that would like to see their ships in a game. This is not an official job of any sort, and we don't have any deadlines. We are just a small group of gaming enthusiasts helping out the community. And anyone with some modeling talent, spare time, a love for space ships and a willing to help out would be most appreciated. Models must be in 3DS Max format because the tools that we work with only convert a 3DS Max model into a usable model the game can use. Some Notes: 1) You don't have to texture the models, but if you want to it would be appreciated. We have a library of textures that the game uses. Or you can use custom external textures. The engine also uses a variety of bump maps and shaders (which I hardly understand at the moment) 2) Stations should be <200k polys 4) Ships need to be <50k polys. Can be more for capital ships since less appear in an area at once. 5) Would like a variety of...well...anything. Fighters, frigates, cruisers, capital ships, carriers, etc. I can supply you with max models so you can size them and have them look proportionally correct. 6) Do not mind working with us to keep ships looking similiar to ships from other races in the game. 7) If you know how to animate, we can experiment with them in the game! The engine supports animation loops (spinning radars, etc), but don't really know the limitations of it. 8) Would certainly not mind posting a credit to you when our mod is done. We also accept any ships you may have sitting around and are willing to donate. I'm sure plenty of you have some beautiful models sitting in your computer that are not uploaded into the Mesh section. If you would like to donate any ships <10mb in size, please email them to me at "flybye at bellsouth dot net" or I could PM you an FTP account number to upload your files to. Huge collection of in game pics. Trailor showing another community mod Ingame pic of a ship I modified. Our website (not very pretty since we just started) Everyone is also more than welcome to visit our forums |
