Looks interesting, when you zoomed out from planet to space and then into the rings of the planet I almost choked on a cookie.

p.s. Love the name too, just rolls off the tongue.....

U know...if it was SUCH a cool project and a the people making it were so sure of themself, they would go and start a small company get a damn loan and pay people instead of BEGGING all over the internet.

The ONLY reason they don't do that, it's because deep down they know it's just a damn fantasy and it will never go anywhere further then in their own basement. if they TOUGH for a second they could get rich outa of it, then they would'nt mind getting funds, but NOOOOOO..why bother when there,s no risk in getting geeks on the net to do it for free with empty promesses.

When you love a pet, loosing it is like loosing a part of your soul. I lost part of mine on Feb 12 2008. Never will it be the same again.

This "request" (only here at scifi-meshes.com) is my personal effort. I'm pretty sure that you dont find requests over the net if you take a look.

Amen, brother Al.

spAce, it just doesn't work the way you want it to man, do what the bloke says, set up a company, get a loan and pay for the contributions based on industry rates of pay. In the long run it will be worth it for you anyway, hell you'd even be able to pay yourself, not forgetting all those nice tax deductions you can put in for expenditure!

You'd attract the better end of the art spectrum if you paid and you wouldn't have to promise pipe dream profits as payment.

Make it real dude, not a dream.

One rule for them another for the rest of us.

it does'nt have to be the Industries's standard for models realy cause there's no such real thing. it always differ on what you're modeling, and for who specialy. but if you wanna be taken seriously, it's the only way to go.

I just finished work on a LOW budjet pilote and was paid about 25% of what i was getting on BSG or Trek, but it was still a cool gig.

The large community, the release of playable prototypes ( which apparently you didn't even try ) and the media attention seem to suggest otherwise.

But it looks like your anger is blinding you, and you can no longer see the difference between a project started by one or two 15-years-old kids that can't program/model, and mature people in their 20s-30s who have industry experience and try to release an indy game.

The lack of introversion and elitist attitude on this forum is constantly amazing me.

We are not trying to get rich from it. If you're looking for money, that's indeed the wrong project to pick up. But why try to make us look like we are the devil ?

There's certainly much less risk for you to contribute a few models, than us spending 4 hours, working 40 hours a week ( in addition to our real jobs ) on this during 4 years.

And we have not promised anything.

Is this project recruitment section out of use or is this the place for cynics ? I'd like to have a soda and fries with your comment.

Al, Andrew, obviously there have been a load of waste-of-time projects on here, but this one actually has good intentions and a solid background. Please let it lie this time.

@spAce, Nyast et al: This is probably best suited to a low poly forum on threedy, cgtalk or cgchat. This place tends to be for high poly modelers and has a number of people who have been burnt by their experiences on similar projects, so something that appears to be asking for a lot with nothing much in return is always going to draw some flak

Forum management should update the forum description and guidelines for advertising a project/request sticky or it should atleast try to keep all the burnt people cool.
