Alrighty then!

I'd like to say that i have heard of Infinity before and the engine is quite amazing, and the work so far is quite cool.

spAce, i would like you to change your first post and make it more official cuz i would like you to attract a few of the good modelers around here. Dont be scared off by these two, they are quite cynical.

Al, Andrew comn' guys stop!

It's fun being me! Is it fun being you?

Thumbs down

This forum here exists for a reason.
All this does is show poorly on SFM as a community and gives the entire board a bad rep.

DONT WANT TO CONTRIBUTE DONT READ THE THREAD. HELL dont pay attention to the request forum period.
Sheesh.

Okay, you have your opinion, but do you have to attack the guy to prove your point? What will you gain if you send them away?

I do see your point but sometimes these things work and succeed, you newer know!

Perhaps some guy joins this, he's no uber modeler, but tries his best learns some new skills, gets some experience and perhaps gets a job in the industry on a basis of what he's done for this project.

So can we leave this thread be!

It's fun being me! Is it fun being you?

Yeah, that's what I was wondering. If there's a separate "paid work" forum...

But, oh well. When I come up to breathe from working on my own mod, I might send something your way, spAce.

I'm no pro, and don't want to be. It's a hobby, for me. Just like playing them

Hopefully, I'll get to play your game someday, and you can check mine out Quid pro quo enough for me.

Good luck, and don't pay attention to the cynics

Also, why don't you just try Gamedev? I know you've hung out there for a long time - which is where I found your game, back in the day. I'd just post on Help Wanted. I've found two modelers there, and fairly quickly. I'm just doing a mod, too. You'd do FAR better, imho.

SFM guys: This project is a regular feature on just about every "anticipated indie game" list. If you don't want to mess around for a few hours and contribute something, that's no skin off my teeth, or his. He's got an absolutely jaw-dropping game engine, though. You'll be seeing it, and in quite a spectacular way, later on down the road. I've been watching this project for a good while, now, and he's done a LOT. It's not going anywhere but up.

Must've been around the same time we got the "please do all your trolling in the request forums" signs, apparently.

So what's the problem with countless hours? And why are you even bringing up the issue of it being free. We have a 'paid work' section. Why don't you two do your browsing in there, if you're short for cash. And what the hell is the issue anyway? It's fairly obvious you two aren't interested, so what exactly do those 'countless' hours mean to you?

The ONLY reason they don't do that, it's because deep down they know it's just a damn fantasy and it will never go anywhere further then in their own basement. if they TOUGH for a second they could get rich outa of it, then they would'nt mind getting funds, but NOOOOOO..why bother when there,s no risk in getting geeks on the net to do it for free with empty promesses.
Um... who's begging. He asked. Nicely. And again, shouldn't you be roaming the paid work. And who the hell said anything about getting rich? Could it be possible that this stuff was being made on a voluntary basis for fun. You don't get funds (publishers) in the game industry until you have at least a basic product.

... or better yet, every time. Not interested? Fair enough. Move along. The forum dynamics will take care of the unfounded requests. Or they would if you didn't have the constant need to drag the topics back on top again just to point out how misguided you think they are. There are reality checks and then there's just being belligerent.

You're not being cynical, just obnoxious. And if you're looking for paying work, go one forum down on the index, or check the classifieds on the many other 3d sites. It's that simple.

He is paying the industry standard for Indie games in development. And yes, a lot of people are involved in that sort of thing, even though you two aren't.

Ain't that the truth.

Now, if you're not interested, fair enough. That's your prerogative. Just don't go pissing all over the thread and SFM's reputation, just because you're feeling a bit confrontational, If you have no intention to invest anything in the projects.

Final warning. Thread bans will follow.

oh that's so easy...always threatning to ban from a thread when opinions differ.

Wanna know why i HATE this section?..and so many others do?, because people come in here, request a TON of work, with NO REWARD what so ever in the end appart from the BS like "will look good in a reel" " lots of exposiour" etc etc. you'll see a LOT of kids with good skills will get involved with false hope and then they're think all of the industry is like that.

i'm not saying "those" guys are like that, but if it smells like a BS, it's usually BS right?. Registering on a forum ONLY to "request" help, is basicaly in my view the same as praying on kids on the internet in the hope of getting sex.

i'm totaly against this section and it's a very low point on this forum. ONLY the paid work section should be left here in order to weed out those so call "request"

I can make that really easy for you dude. I can simply remove your access to you if you'd like. It won't bother you are you can stay the hell away from it. Sounds like a win for everyone to me.

Al and Andrew - You are both banned from this thread. You are both entitled to your own opinions but when you attack users posting a legitimate request and give SFM a bad name, that's where I draw the line. SFM has no official affiliation or even contact with the Infinity project that I am aware of and I am damned if two members of a community of more 18,000 are going to decide to start some sort of ridiculous feud between our two communities.

spAce, Nyast - Welcome to Scifi-Meshes. Please let me assure you that we do have many members with people skills. I hope your experiences here in this thread thus far don't colour your opinions too much of our community. Your request here is more than welcome. In fact, if you guys are interested, we could discuss ideas that could benefit both our communities. As I see it, our two community potentially could gain a lot from each other as far as creative collaboration and being able to contribute to a larger project.

I find it ironic that we have members bitching that you ask for their "countless hours" of work without pay. Our members spend countless hours without pay to create the art they do now. The only difference I see is that they will be choosing to operate within certain restrictions of your project if they choose to take part. *shrugs* I fail to see the big deal. If you are not interested, then simply close the thread and go on to the next. The attitude being put up by certain members impresses no one and does nothing to help you earn the respect of the community.

i dont mean to bash this project in any way, but i would like to point out my view on things.

i was working on ships for the infinity project for a few months, did some of the better once, this was before some of the other better modelers showed up and some even called me a god, lol, that was silly for me, as i was doing low poly models, nothing spectacular, and now there are better artists on. i stopped working on the project because i relized nothing was ever gona be compete. the single guy programing wont have the time to program the entire game, and besides having all those assets being made, the real game is in the programing.
i want to see my stuff used in a game soon, and not 5 years down the line with no promises of that.

on a positive note, i will not deny them use of the models i have already made. and i do think that for anyone the talent there, anyone can learn a bit about modeling and texturing for games. if you just want to have fun modeling then infinity is the place for you.
its just not for everyone.

"and thats all i have to say about that"
