Downloads: 6 Uploads: 0 | Starwars total conversion for X3 Hi guys, i have seen some excellent work here, im still kind of new to modeling, and no doubt theres plenty of info here to help me improve... the point of this topic is to recruit people who love to build Star Wars related models for modding the mod is SW a total conversion for X3, and right now, i know of myself and one other modeller that are tackling these meshes... i have seen quite a few great SW related models here, and was wondering if anyone is interested, we have lots of unique ships, and some older ones that need updating from reference pics...its not easy, but it is fun! also if anyone has completed models and would not mind allowing us to use whatever they have (as in not as well known ships from the SW universe) that would be great too! currently we are focusing on as much canon material as possible, bt due to the need of an immense ammount of ships in the mod, non canon vessels are welcome too, as long as they appear to fit into the SW universe reasonably example, "the pirate ship" forefather of the corellian corvette and many other similar designs, this was supposed to be the millenium falcon before they changed the design  thats one of the many models im working on right now, and boy is it a lot of fun!!! we also need people who are experienced at turrets, and animation there are other needs as well, but the forum is a better place to find out about all of those... here is the link to the forum any and all are welcome to browse there and check it out! look for members like killertide, observe, and saint-ashley if you want to join in the fun |

Downloads: 6 Uploads: 0 | way to hijack a recruitment drive LOL! thanks for the welcome Raja! anyway, that is not even finished yet, its just one of the images i had handy at the time, im too busy to upload all my pics... on a side note, im looking for a few tutorials, after all i am still a noob to modeling... usually i catch my own errors, but a second eye is appreciated too Raja, and yes it is a mess, but the original concept was a mess too, after all the imperials never would have called it "drift junk" unless it was a mess LOL |

Downloads: 0 Uploads: 0 | well the main thing that reaches out an screams at me is the scale of the engine in relationship to the cockpit. Take and find a size map for the SW universe would help in that department. |

Downloads: 6 Uploads: 0 | yeah sure, but this is from the original ralph mcquarrie painting, it was exactly that big compared to the cockpit, i guess thats kinda part of why they discarded the idea, and used the 11 engines on the tantive... (the corvette) that and the front of it looked too much like a space 1999 ripoff so thats why they made the millenium falcon into the saucer shape we all know and love heres the stages of developent that the "pirate ship" went through for the original Star Wars movie... first it was modeled after ralph mcquarries painting, but it was kind of kooky looking if you ask me  then he repainted it to look more like a star wars type ship  well it looked too much like the ship from space 1999, so they decided to add 11 engines on the back like this  eventually george said that it looked rediculous and they canibbalized the design to make other ships including the millenium falcon, and the blockade runner, basically its the great grand-daddy of most corellian ships in the movies... ralph even repainted the hangar scene that is shown above to replace "the pirate ship" with the millenium falcon EDIT: since the last time i was here, i decided to go ahead and learn max and got pretty good at it for gaming quality models. currently im working on two mods at once. whew! talk about fun. i practically live for modeling. if anyone wants to see some of my work just ask. i will however post a new thread with some of my work, just screens inside the max GUI. i have learned a lot in the past 8 months. |
