Blog Entries: 2 | Future city This is an idea I have had for a few years now, we all like these future style mega cities, like we see on coruscant, or in blade runner, but for most of us, we dont have the time to make an entire city ourselves. My suggestion, if people are interested, is that anyone who wants to take part in this project contribute at least one building themselves (based on a set of dimensions, say your building footprint can be no more than 100x100m). And anyone that contributes a building gets access to all the other buildings. It dosnt matter that all the buildings will have different styles, in fact that just makes the city more realistic. So anyone up for this? |

| I'd love to, there will probably be some applications incompatiblities though ... let's say one contributes a max 10, another a max 9, max 8, LW, Blender, and a Truespace model. We'd have to make sure everyone exports their building to as many compatible formats as possible ... Count me in! |

Blog Entries: 2 | The way I see it, everyone should release their model in two formats, their native program, for others with the same one, and as an OBJ file, which most people will be able to import. |

| Project Lead on SFM Film | Who will put the city together? I mean you will have to lay out road and other transprots route, as well as "Blocks" Basiclay create a map of how the city will be layed out. |

Blog Entries: 2 | Thats the beauty of it, you put together whatever city you want, based on the blocks we have made. There is no set official sci fi meshes city, there is just a series of blocks that anyone who has contributed to can use. You only need roads if you are looking down on the city or rendering at street level, and in that case, it would be up to you what went down there. |

| I really like this idea! What about a joint WIP thread for everyone who wants to contribute? Also, how are we gonna share the files, does someone have an FTP server? Edit: Some sort of 100x100m block on the base or some sort of scale would be useful too, so you can resize it properly in case of unit mismatch |
