Star Trek: SFI recruiting CGI/SFX artists

We are a new fan-film series based in San Francisco and we're looking for good CGI/SFX artists for our production. (Our press release is below)

http://startreksfi.org

Please contact us if you'd like to work with the project. As this is a fan-film series, there will be no pay for the project; however, there will be production credit.

Thanks for the interest and drop us a line.

For Immediate Release

We are pleased to announce the official start of the newest fan-based project

STAR TREK: SFI

Currently in development, the internet-based series will be produced by “FanFilm Pictures”. Principal photography will take place in San Francisco, California and the surrounding areas. The first episode is projected to begin filming in April, 2008. Episodes will be available only from the official website: www.startreksfi.org.

The series will follow the life of Lieutenant Commander Nick Spencer, a Starfleet Intelligence analyst, and his colleagues as they struggle to balance the competing demands of personal and professional roles. While doing so, Nick will be able to bury some ghosts of his past. However, Nick will be forced to come to terms with deep personal loss contrasted against personal success.

STAR TREK: SFI is set in the original series timeline. Current plans call for a six episode story arc for Season One. The first episode, titled “Interesting Questions” has been written and is in the pre-production phase. The second episode, “Advice”, is in development.

STAR TREK: SFI is unique in the Star Trek genre that it is the FIRST Star Trek series not regularly set in space. The stories are predominately based in and around San Francisco. This extraordinary setting will allow for greater flexibility in story development and filming opportunities as the series progresses.

The series co-creators are Parker Nolen and Jack Small. Both can be contacted through the website.

I have looked at your site... Nice concept you have going on there. I also like your list of Episodes. I was also going to do the same thing for my Star Trek FanFilm. I have 3 episodes written up already. I just haven't posted the plots of each yet. I hope you guys enjoy yourselves. As I and several others in my crew do.

Sounds like you´re still in the planning stages where you mainly need a concept artist who defines the visual look & feel of your show.

Somebody blow something up, I'm in a really bad mood. Thanks in advance.

Yea, he might be in the planning stages, but he has a good start on his website.. It even helped me with my website. I wasn't sure how I was going to show info on my Star Trek Show. But his idea of an Episodes page helped me out. So I have to thank him for the idea.

Thanks for the comment. We've got the Series Bible written which defines the look and feel of the show and extremely basic story boards have been completed for the CGI-required sequences. Since we are set in San Francisco, the CGI requirements are minimal. But we do need: Opening Credits which last 1:40 and one scene of a specific Saladin-class ship in space.

Would you be willing to work on our project? If not, can you recommend someone? Drop us a line through the website.

Thanks again.

1:40 sounds very long for opening credits.

That's one minute and 40 seconds (roughly the same length as ST:TNG) which is the length of our music theme that opens the show.
