Animation Needed for Star Wars Fanfilm

'm making a star wars fanfilm set in the clone wars, about a team of jedi who have been sent to obtain an ancient jedi holocron from rhen var. The separatists are also after it, and have sent general grievous. The film is shot entirely on greenscreen, which I key myself, but I need an animator to do general grievous and his bodyguards. The whole sequence should be about 2 or so minutes long, 3 at most. It is about 85% action, so it would be pretty painstaking. Unfortunately I don't have anything of monetary value to offer, but you could add it to your portfolio. At any rate, here is a video of a few shots that include before and after comparisons.

Sequence_01.mov - FileFront.com

These are the models I was thinking of using.
Sci-Fi 3D: The Ultimate 3D Sci-Fi Resource
MagnaGuardVM, Jedi Knight 3 Downloads, Jedi Knight 3 Star Wars

I'm not sure if the magna guard model has a skeleton to animate from, it might need to be rigged.

If anyone is interested I can post or pm anyone more details.

al3d, your posts are rather juvenile. I am trying to recruit people for my project, if you have nothing to contribute, I ask that you find something better to do than make fun of my actors and hard work.

I saw the video... the greenscreen extraction is excellent. You need to add shadows, otherwise it will look even more fake than AotC. I'm not very fond of the backgrounds, try enhancing those a bit. As far as the acting, watch the climatic obi won-DV battle a the end of RotS, and then watch the "making of" dvd extra.

PLOT: Having a bunch of Jedi fight General Greivious, who eats Jedi Knights for lunch, is IMO, a bit lame. Obi Wan barely beat Greivious, and that was only because ILM got bored/ was a Jedi Master and one of the best swordsman in the galaxy (aside from Mace Windu and Yoda). Maybe have them fight a fallen Jedi, or something like that.

VFX: Having good lightsabers doesnt make a fan film good. What is the purpose of this video? is it to demonstrate s/fx skills, directing skills, portfolio etc? what does it accomplish, you cant put it on your resume as sole creator.

This is just a fanfilm, I made it to learn more about film making, to try and make a story set in the Star Wars universe. The clip I supplied is just a little preview of what kind of shots there are, so people can see what they would be animating. Thank you for the critique homerpalooza67, I do need to add shadows and such, I'm not really satisfied with the background either, that's what I get for trying to match live action and a video game .

Al3d, I believe this section of the forum is called "project recruitment". I posted here to see if anyone was willing to help with my project. If no one is, that is their choice, I'm not twisting any arms.

Marshallator - I hope you find someone to help out on your project.

I actually think you can get the masking/greenscreen a lot cleaner than you have it now. You are getting a lot of halos around the people. If you can't extract a better matte you might want to think about doing some roto work around the parts that are more problematic. It will make the people blend in with the backgrounds much better.

I know there are some good tutorials on this - - even some on the Ryan vs. Dorkman website that might help you out a bit on the greenscreen work.

cheers!
Jeff
