Infrared Modding: Texturer/Artwork Artist searched

Hello sci-fi meshes-community

I'm a member (to be exact one of two modellers) of Infrared Modding, a modding team which is at the moment working on a mod for Gas Powered Games RTS "Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance".
Our aim is to create a new, unique faction ( the "Nomads") in addition to the four included in the game.

In the last few months we have brought many of the new units ingame, so we could start a Closed Alpha.

But now the problems are starting:

We have no design ideas for the many units (including allmost the entire navy and many air units), which aren't made yet. A member, which made a few artworks, have left us a month ago.

So we need you!
Our lead modeller and I have seen some of your very fine artworks, so it would be a honour for us if one of you would join us.
Here some renders of the units which are ingame:

(this is a high-poly Mesh for the Nomad-Intro. It shows a destroyer of the sword class - NO ingame quality)

(this is the Tier1 Interceptor. Little firepower for little costs)

(this is the Tier1 Tank with the first draft of the Nomad Texture-style)

(the Tier2 Power Generator)

(the Tier2 Tank, called "Wraith")

(and last but not least the Tier3 Artillery, which is belonging to the quite powerful endgame units)

Our next problem is, that many (in fact almost all) units doesn't have a texture yet. We still have a texture artist, but he is just a beginner.
So we would be verry happy if one of you coould help us by making some (or all...) textures, so we could finish this modifiication.

We require:

- skills in texturing or artworking
- the ability to work in a team
- but to be still able to work alone
(- a sourceforge.net-account would be good, but is not absolutely required)

We offer:

- a friendly team
- skills in coding (Lua) und 3D Modelling (Blender)
- fun
- information

I have to agree with all said points.
Hello sci-fi community! I am ZJ, the leader of the infrared-modding-team and the other modeller whos made maybe 3/4 of the units ingame ( the rest was done by parker, he's a really gifted modeller )

I would be very pleased to hear that someone of you would give us the honour of doing some texturing or concept art.

With greetings, ZJ

Ok, though I am a bit disappointed because of the...amazing feedback, here is the final UVmap of the Sword-Destroyer. Yes, there are some artifacts, but i was too lazy and it is just in very small mesh-parts. and dont worry, this is the most complicated UVmap that would have to be textured, the other ones are way easier to texture!

And yes I know this is a double post

the_ZJ,

I'm new to this web community but have been following progress for the Nomads mod for some time. I know that this particular thread is older but seeing as this is my first time coming across it, I would like to offer help with texturing if you still need it. My program of choice is Maya 8.0 but I think I could easily adapt to Blender (I do not have 3dsMax...) I have photoshopCS3 as well though if all you plan on sending me is the unwrapped UV's. I have downloaded the attached .rar file so I can take a look at it as soon as I get a chance...just to see how complicated this texturing is going to be... Anyway, I have VERY high hopes for this mod and I would hate to see it die because of a simple lack of texture artists. If you think I can help than please let me know

Some info on me and my texturing experience:

I am 19 and currently enrolled in the Media Arts and Animation (learning mostly Maya, some 3dsMax and traditional stuff as well) degree at the Art Institute of Seattle. If you want to see some examples of my artwork please visit my website which is: here ...keep in mind that some of the work is a bit older but I have recently updated the site to include my newest work as well (generally, the newest stuff is in the top rows...)
