renegade legion universe MOD?

Hello to all, broadwing here. It's a pleasure to post here for the first time.

After having heard of your community, I have decided to post in those forums, in order to humbly ask for help from tallented modelers in order to preserve one of the most interesting sci fi universes called the renegade legion.

The renegade legion was a series of board games distributed by FASA corporation describing space combat (fighter and capital ship (called leviathans) wise) as well as ground combat using tanks and soldiers between a neo roman empire called the TOG (terran overlord government) and a host of allied races called the commonwhealth (composed of several alien races, and also of humans which have fled the tyranny of the TOG: the renegade legions).

Some ship designs like the syracuse cruiser, shiva battleship or xerxes frigate carrier are among the best ever created. Should nobody object, I would gladly show download links to the leviathan and fighter briefs.

And the benefits of working on your mod are...what exactly?

the fact of discovering a new sci fi universe you might have missed (not a lot of people know about the renegade legion, yet when I show documents around me all agree that the universe is more than a little interesting and that the ships are easily as atypical and remembered as babylon 5 ships).

Naturally, people would also share the credit of the mod and last but not least they would contribute in preserving the renegade legion universe from death by oblivion.

A: What is the mod for (As in Freespace, Homeworld.. Viva Pinata )
B: What format would ships be needed in.
C: What Poly limit is there for 1: Fighters and 2: Capital Ships.

Because I remember the universe (I've got one of the Renegade Legion box sets 2nd ed, the tank one *The name escapes me at the time of typing this*) and played it on the computer.
Depending on the above criteria i'd possibly be happy to model a few fighters for you. (Specifically the Spiculum, Avenger and Gladius.) But no garuntees as i'm the head modeller for the Battlefleet Gothic mod for Dawn of War

Actually, 2 projects are started (both ensure model cooperation). One is for freespace SCP and the other is for starshatter: the gathering storm. Also, It's a pleasure to talk to an old renegade LOL. I thought I was the last!

Several ships have been created in starshatter which I think you should check: syracuse, fulgur, xerxes, seneca, nalandam, carthage, ajax, enmity and several others as well as fighters and a few patrol ships of the corvette class (the carrier corvettes solstice and pharetra). We could use someone to start by modelling some of the source 12 fighters (cheeta, guardian, space gull, penetrator, avenger, fluttering petal, launcea, verutum, spiculum, pilum, martiobarbulus, gladius) or the 2 small corvettes (cingulum and pegasus). I trust the models are needed in .3ds for starshatter and in .pof for freespace (converting models is often used so it's not too much of a problem to share models). You are welcome to post in the forums...
