To the Stars our Fate

Hi,
Only my second post here but thought I would drop by again. I posted the first draft of my Star Trek story To the Stars our Fate yesterday, one that will be illustrated using Poser and Vue once I can get all my meshes together.

Okay here is the gen about the story so far.

The USS Isis finds herself crippled and facing certain doom after a running battle with the Zinti, a reptilian race that has been at war with the Federation for almost three years. Rachel Shepherd the ships captain manages to steer the vessel into an anomaly and throws the ship forward in time almost 90 years, slap into the Federations war against the Dominion.

Now out of synch and time, the Isis and her crew must learn to adapt and survive.

Service Record:
2260: Graduated Starfleet Academy
2260: Assigned USS Monroe as helm officer (ensign). Shepherd gets into a fight with a Klingon officer while on the planet Risa on shore leave. The fight leaves her with a large scar on her right thigh that she will often come to rely on during combat.
2264: Promoted to Lieutenant, assigned as tactical officer
2268: The Tyco Incident: Shepherd is sent on an away mission with her commanding officer Captain Henry Jones to the planet Tyco. The mission is a routine investigation of a dilythum plant that has not contacted the Federation for several weeks. The landing party are captured by members of the infamous Orion Syndicate and held at gun point. Shepherd escapes and frees her fellow officers and manages to incapacitate four of the pirates, the others flee in a cloaked ship. Though the Monroe follows she is unable to capture the pirates. Upon recommendation from Captain Jones, Rachel Shepherd is promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Commander
2275: Captain Jones recommends Shepherd for her own commission and Starfleet reassigns her to the USS Isis NCC 3445. Now promoted to captain, Shepherd quickly bonds with her crew and begins to grow romantically attached to her first officer Andos.
2278: The Isis responds to a distress call from a remote Federation listening post on the Romulan border, only to discover that the entire facility is no longer there, only a huge gouge in the planets surface remains and every scrap of technology is gone. Later Shepherd will come to learn that this was the work of a Borg scout vessel.
2280: Shepherd and Andos begin a serious romantic involvement.
2281: The Zinti War: Following a misunderstanding the Federation finds itself in a minor war with a reptilian race known as the Zinti. A distant relation to the Gorn, the Zinti are powerful warriors, who use technology on par with that of the Federation. The war takes its toll on both sides and the Isis is assigned to patrolling the Typhon Corridor, an expanse of space that separates Zinti and the Federation.
2282: Andos is killed by Zinti warriors on the planet Regla, while helping evacuate a Federation medical facility. The crew and most notably Shepherd are shaken by his loss. A series of running battles take place throughout the Typhon Corridor, between the Isis and a number of Zinti cruisers. During the final days of the year, the Isis takes part in heavier combat. Her sister ship USS Ra is crippled then later destroyed by Zinti fighters. Shepherd and her crew are attacked shortly afterwards and left for dead as their life support fails.


2283: USS Isis disappears through spatial and temporal anomaly in the Typhon Expanse

2373: The USS Isis appears in Federation space some ninety years after she vanished. A third of her crew are now among the dead and the surviving crew find that many of their families and loved ones have since died in the time they have been away. The Federation is now at war with an alien collective from the Gamma Quadrant known as The Dominion, and the war is going badly. The Isis is refitted and re-staffed.

I am currently expanding all the background bio's for all the characters and will post them as soon as they are finished along with the first images that I have been working on.

You might want to use a wiki of some sort to keep track of all the important information. How far have you gotten with your character sketches?

Hi Cochrane,
Thanks for the comments, I am going to create a wiki for all the characters and important information about the story as soon as I get the chance, spent the past couple of weeks working as a focus tester for Rockstar on GTA IV so had little time to do anything (working 90 hours in week is pretty draining).

As for the renders? Well I have worked on Shepherd and Pequal, and trying to edit the vessel now, but I only just got Lightwave and still not used it before. Will post images soon.
