| About time I put something up.. ...or shut up ![]() As part of finding my way around 3D apps and CG I thought I would attempt to bring to life a piece of Trek-based fiction I wrote about 8 years ago while convalescing from an illness. I was inspired after reading the Shatner/Reeves-Stevens novel 'The Return' (Don't laugh, I though it was pretty good ), and ended up reading the 2 follow-ups.Anyway, I recently re-discovered those writings I'd made again and considered the possibility of putting together a Graphic Novel/webcomic of the story, now that I potentially have the resources to do something like that, if for no other reason than I might learn something ..and it would be fun ![]() Before I do that I'll be posting the text version of the story in the Writer's Forum very shortly so once its up I'd be interested to know what people think. Here's a synopsis: In ‘The Best of Both World's’ we saw the aftermath of a Borg visitation to Jouret IV ...but there were further incidents. Set almost a year after the events in ‘First Contact’, 44 Starfleet cadets and 1 academy drop-out are the only survivors when their entire city is consumed by a Borg cube. The small, bewildered group of Starfleet cadets must fight to escape assimilation and avoid destruction at the unwitting hands of Starfleet itself. |

| The New Guy | I am always in the mood for a story about unproven youths starting the grand adventure of Starfleet. I'd be interested to see how it would work in a graphical sense.-- ZC |

And thanks for the offer of help. I'll be putting more of the text version of the story up over the next few days so you'll be able to see a little more of how the characters and story begin to fall into place. I just didn't want to post a huge monolith of text all in one go, as personally, I'd be disinclined to read through something so daunting looking

As for going into comic mode, we'll have to see. The story was originally written ages ago, so there are probably things that aren't quite accurate anymore or contradict some new-fangled bit of canon - meh! Let's see if the story actually entertains first
