This can be a story that you made up but plan not to use. Even just a character or two will help me. I don't need much to start a story. If I finish the story, I'll even post it on this site.. |

One would involve a character whom enters some sort of cryo-preservation device that puts him into suspended animation for long periods of times; essentially, a one-way time machine to the future. You could even do something with electromagnetic technology being used to stop the activity of atoms, thus realizing "true" suspended animation. The character could be a lonely, down on his times scientist who begins traveling space and time to find peace, taking ever longer trips in his device until he finds himself trillions of years into the future at the end of the universe. Another possibility I've thrown around is a far-future sort of space opera with a hard sci-fi edge. It would involve "post-human" societies (type in post-human or transhumanism into wikipedia to learn more) whom, in spite having mastered time, space, and the universe, have yet to discover an over-all purpose. What would follow is a quest for the meaning of the universe, one that may or may not be fruitful. This would probably be best written with a slower, more methodical pacing, and I imagined with some very heavy philosophical debate going on. Technology would be so advanced that it has become invisible in everyday life. Of course, you're welcome to do whatever you want with it, otherwise I wouldn't be posting it here. ![]() Hope this helps. I know I've got more, it's just going to take me bit to remember some. I'll post more if I remember. |
