Across The Worlds

Basically, I have this story line figured out, but all I have are excerpts from random times in the large timeline of the story
Here is a couple sections that go together, but are broken up. Basically I would like some input on my writing in general. Tips and the whatnot, and also if this makes you interested in whats going on. I'll be happy to answer any questions






“Isn’t there a helmet or something? I could have sworn I saw one in your pile of stuff…”
Toshiya shook his head. “We will, ah, worry about that later,” he evaded. “For now, just worry about this initial setup. Put on the armor. A setup holo will appear in front of you; just follow its prompts.”
Riobard fit into the armor amazingly well. As soon as all the clasps were secure, an image of a striped multi colored apple sprang up in front of him. Underneath were a loading bar and the letters OS XV. Riobard raised an eyebrow and glanced at Toshiya, who shrugged apologetically. After the main operating system had loaded, a female voice started speaking from the hologram.
“Thank you for activating the DFA Class TOR Battle Armor, version five-point-nine. Setup has detected a new or unconfigured user. In order to use this high-spec battle suit, you will have to be set up and matched to this armor. Do you wish to continue?”
A “Yes or No” box sprang up and Riobard reached out and tapped “Yes”. The box disappeared, followed by a new box showing an alert.
“Setup cannot determine your origin, nor can I speak with your SCOS operating system. I will do my best to compensate, but I will need you to manually input your information. My first question will be: Are you a native to this dimension?”
Toshiya looked impressed. “Wow. That’s rather insightful.”
Riobard tapped “No”. The menu brought up a list of races, and the computer continued. “Here is a list of possible sub races that you can be. Please check all that apply.”
Riobard was amazed to see not only to see Elemental in the list, but also Planet Elemental and Nega. Riobard browsed down the large list, and checked the following:

Elemental
Planet Elemental
Nega
Psi
Mahj

Riobard also noticed a Vampire and Danaan option. He pointed to the Vampire checkbox and looked to Toshiya. “Do I qualify for this?”
Toshiya scratched his head. “I’m not sure. You have Vampire DNA, but not the attributes… Yeah, don’t check it. Most likely cause issues that we don’t wanna deal with. I’m surprised to see Danaan in there. TOR can’t integrate them on our dimension…”
Riobard hit “Next” on the screen, and it brought up a list of Elements for both Elementals and Planet Elementals. “Please select the Elements you are attuned to, as well as the planets for your Planet attributes. Do not worry about Inter Dimensional attributes for now. Just select the planets that you know on your home dimension.”

“Based on your selections and other information, I was able to interface with your SCOS operating system and determine a more accurate description of your abilities. Before I deploy your DFA Wings-“
Riobard’s eyes widened. “Wait, what??”
“- I will run through a quick list of some of the weapons stored on your armors internal WSB. These weapons have been fully integrated with your armor, and you will be able to use them just as you would through normal transformation, or you can engage them via WSB commands, just as you would with your current brace.” The finished screen disappeared and another popped up with a rotating 3D representation of a weapon that looked familiar to Riobard, but he couldn’t put his finger on it.
“Holy hell!” Rhok exclaimed. “A Zapback! I haven’t seen one of those in years!”
Riobard nodded to himself. That’s what it was. A very rare and evil weapon…
The computer continued; “This is the Elemental Nova Rubius-790. Also known as the ‘Zapback’ or ‘Maindrain’, this weapon is a highly classified piece of equipment. It can drain the target of its internal energy, and give that energy to the user or store it for later, if equipped with a 'reverse-polarized' Nova Crystal, also known as a synthetic Nega Crystal. Natural Nega Crystals can be used, but the I/O is still under testing and has some issues with compatibility of the user if they are not Nega oriented, so use at your own risk.
“Next, we have a weapon simply known as the ‘Chain Gun’.” Riobard expected a Nova CX-U130, but instead an actual chain appeared, shooting out what looked like a large shotgun. The chain hit the end and retracted into the barrel and the computer once again continued; “The Chain Gun is excellent for subduing prisoners or bounty measures. If used the right way, it can break someone’s neck from around a corner. Being used from the armor transformation, the chain itself has several presets that allow the chain to be barbed, razored, electrified, etc. This is NOT a toy.”
The computer then went through several other weapons, ranging from axes and swords to plasma beam weapons and a gun that fired long, thin poisonous darts that would go through any living matter.
After that was done, the computer went to a new screen and started to give Riobard some warnings. “It is best to have a couple friends with you in case of emergency. The DFA Wing deployment can cause an extreme amount of pain, and can render the user incapacitated or uncontrollable as the body tries to accept the new limbs.”
Toshiya and Rhok started slowly backing up towards the door. “I don’t like where this is going, “ Rhok said with a hint of urgency in his voice. “I vote that we leave.”
“What?!” Riobard shrieked. “You don’t like it? ****! Stay here, you **** heads! Didn’t you just hear the computer? You need to stay here!!”
“Yeah…” Toshiya started, “About that. I don’t think I wanna be your friend anymore…”
“Yes. I actually prefer the term ‘partners under extenuating circumstances’ myself…”
“You slanty-eyed ****starts! Get over-“ Riobard stopped in the middle of his threat and his eyes glazed over. Toshiya glanced at Rhok, who had his eyes glued to Riobard’s back. Toshiya followed his path and saw that two vertical strips of random color were glowing on Riobard’s back. The color flashed through several different spectrums before finally settling on blue. Toshiya then noticed that Riobard’s neutral purple eyes had also changed color to a blood-red. A color not good for other’s health.
Toshiya pushed Rhok. “Out. Out now, godammit!” Rhok tore his eyes from Riobard and wrenched the door open, and the two warriors stumbled outside and slammed the door shut. As soon as the door clicked shut, they heard a large RRIIIIP and another sound that sounded like stressed metal emitting from the room. A couple seconds passed and Toshiya and Rhok scrambled away from the door. They stared at it for a couple seconds, and then they finally heard Riobard’s reaction.
“AAAAUUUUGGGHHH! GET. THEM. OFF! GET THEM OFF GET THEM OFF GET THEM OFF!” Riobard’s voice was soon drowned out by the sound of automatic gunfire.
“What is going on out here, huh?”
Toshiya and Rhok jumped a bit and turned to see a groggy Shark standing in the doorway to his quarters. “Um….”
Shark shook his head. “While I may be far superior to you types, I still requires sleep. So can you please lower the decibels to a respectable level?”
Toshiya pointed to the door. “Yeah… I think Rio like the decibels where they are…”
Shark cocked his head and glared at Toshiya. “You are one sarcastic bastard. How are you still alive?”
“By remembering to eat and breathe, mostly…”
Shark growled. “Snap. Crack. POP.”
“What is that?”
Shark bared all of his teeth in a grin. “The sound of your kneecaps being forcibly removed from your legs if ya don’t gets in there and shut the screaming twit up.”
Rhok made a grand gesture towards the door. “How about you be our guest.”
Shark rolled his eyes and walked over to the door and kicked it open. “Rio! Shut the-“ Shark stopped in mid-command and just stared into the now silent room. He looked back at Rhok and Toshiya, and then back into the room. He then stepped back and shut the door quietly.
He stood there for a few seconds, staring at the other two, then he pointed back to his quarters. “Ya know? I don’t think I was properly woken up. In fact, I’m going to induce a coma upon myself. Please wake me when Rio is NOT an angel from Hell.” With that, Shark stormed back to his room and slammed the door.

"Do you know what the Early Warning System is?"
Toshiya ran a quick search and nodded. "Yeah. EWS is exactly what it sounds like. Using specialized synthetic Mahj telepathic abilities, it alerts the user to danger. Depending on the sensitivity setting, it can 'warn' you of incoming danger, such as a bodily attack upon you or others around you. High sensitivity is called 'Protector Mode', and that can range anywhere from one mile to a max of five-hundred miles." Toshiya set the portable computer on the workbench and pointed to the red oblong orbs inset to the side of Riobard's helmet. "Those red things are basically the pickups for that. If it senses danger, they will start flashing rapidly, depending on the level of danger it reads."
"Kinda hard for silent recon if they start flashing, isn't it?"
The Nihonjin TOR nodded. "Yes, it would be, which is why you can turn them off and keep the alerts to your HUD only."
Riobard raised his arm and felt down the red crystals. "I'm starting to like this armor more and more," he said. "How do I turn it on?"
Toshiya turned his attention back to his computer and furrowed his brow. "Um... Not sure quite yet. Apparently by default, it's turned off." He typed in more search strings and jabbed his finger at the screen. "Ah ha, here we are. Read this."
Riobard bent over Toshiya's shoulder and read the appropriate commands. He found the main menu in his armor's HUD and selected 'EWS - PR MODE'. A loading bar appeared, signaling that it was readying the system.
"It's starting up," Riobard said. "Should be interesting to see-"
Suddenly, the sides of Riobard's helmet started to flash rapidly, and instantly Rio clutched the sides of his head and stumbled backward, shrieking "**** **** ****, holy ****!! Make the goddamned screaming stop!"
Surprised, Toshiya jumped up, dropping the portable onto the floor. Rhok, having already dealt with a bad experience regarding Riobard and DFA armor, gave Riobard plenty of room. Shark just stood there with an amused expression on his face and his arms crossed. Rio managed to regain composure and frantically searched for the "OFF" command for the EWS. He found it and the screaming it his helmet stopped
"There," Riobard said with a sigh. "I got it-"
Then, as suddenly as he freaked out, Riobard disappeared.




"-Turned off."
Almost instantly, Riobard detected something wrong. A red flashing banner on his HUD reading "PR PORT OK!" and the fact that Toshiya, Rhok, and Shark had suddenly vanished. At the very top of Riobard's worries was not only did they vanish, but were replaced with a dozen hard-contact Nega-TOR prison sec.
There was total and absolute silence as Riobard and the Nega-TOR stared at each other.
"So NOT cool," Rio said aloud, feeling that the silence was beginning to feel a little to eerie.
To the Neo-TOR's surprise, the Nega did not instantly open fire on him. Instead, they turned and ran, fighting their way out the door as if they had just seen one of those Vaporraptors appear if front of them. Riobard stood there for a while, confused. He had never met THAT reaction with the Nega before.
