Warp Gate 0012

I don't know if this is the correct place to post this, so if it's wrong, my apologies.
Come August 1, I will be releasing to the internet, the first of what I hope to be many screenplays, for a story called Warp Gate 0012. Now, here's the synopsis.

- Synopsis -
A 2000 foot wide ring is discovered in orbit around Jupiter. When a team of scientists, marines, biologists, and so on, activate it, they are thrown through space, and in turn, deplete the power source of Earth's Warp Gate. Each gate has a cereal number to input, to dig a tunnel through zero space. Earth's number is 0012. Now, the stranded Earthlings join a crew of aliens, trying to avoid the grasp of an alien military, and just trying to get home.
Now, let's address why I'm doing this. I've realized that I love writing screenplays and teleplays. So, I'm doing this to try and get noticed by someone.
Now, a screenplay is not a novel.

- Novel -
Caldwell stepped onto the bridge, hungry for food.
"Who's stolen my golden potatoes?!" he yells.

- Screenplay (not very good format) -
INT. DAEDALUS - BRIDGE
Caldwell steps onto the bridge, hungry for food.

CALDWELL
Who's stolen my golden potatoes?!

I'll release the first one, a nineteen page screenplay, on my website, The Sci-Fi Network
Keep an eye out, on August 1, 2008.

Mmmmm, Frosties or Cornflakes?

It sounds too much like a direct copy of Stargate, but good luck with it

It's just for fun really. I thought about the whole stargate thing too, and I guess I can't say much about it. I think I'll be able to distinguish it from stargate if I do another episode. I just needed a system to use to open the Warp Gates.

No ancient computer located nearby on an adrift little alien pod habitat, the size of a Regula-Class science station?

Plus, you'd have-to come up with a plausible-sounding reason that NASA, the decades of shuttles, probes, & their administrators hadn't noticed The Gate before. Or have it on the moon, a few years after the I.S.S. has been completed & the incremental increase in "space tourism" on Spaceship One makes the ability to keep possible contact with Humanity / S.E.T.I. on the down-low.

A certain post-9/11 cooperative inter-governmental "star chamber" decides to fool with their "Pandora's Box" in their subterranean lab on the moon, far from the prying eyes of amateur astronomers & global media. A small group is tethered on cables, dressed in environmental suits & sent-in to deal with whatever's on the other side.

Upon the gate's activation, the group are hauled through.

That's the thing, the Gate represents mystery, and uncertainty. Besides, photos from space, are perspectives, put together. Several photos, stitched together. And Jupiter is HELLA big. And a thin ring, no matter how wide it was, would be pretty difficult to find, depending on it, and considering its distance. We don't exactly know every nook and cranny of our system.

He has a point. Space is big.

As for activation - no power source is found: a storm on Jupiter throws up electrical or electromagnetic streamers and powers the circle up for a moment sucking everything through (or something like that).
