Someone claimed IP when the IP is actually with the creator of the "universe" that the work is directly derived from. If I was to claim my avatar as my IP then I would be just as culpable, though for slightly different reasons. If I created a character that was directly derivative of Kevin Smith's work and based in his world and claimed IP on the character then I would be doing the same thing as the person who originally complained Anyway, how do you know I don't have permission to use the image as my avatar?
