Post Relic Confusion

Perhaps I should introduce myself before I start my story.

I was born just a decade after my world became finally unified, some feat in itself from the tales my parents told me, but not one that I will write about, it was before my time after all.
My early years were the usual childish pranks, laughs and falls...around which the world seemed to be getting taller...at least to my young eyes. I was 5 when the world re-launched it's quest to reach our planets moons, the space race between the countries had spawned the unification movement after all. I remember at 8 years old being taken by my father to see the space planes take off, I still see them now, these many years later. Happy memories indeed, and certainly a likely candidate for starting my interest in space.

At 15, I along with the rest of my world paused in mild disbelief as we heard the news that an extinction sized meteor had been found, during a routine scan of our kuiper belt, that was on a collision course with the planet and would arrive in just under 5 years. To say people panicked would be an understating it a little...riots broke out the world over, mass buying of supplies and so on and so forth, the list went on. Though they were a little premature in their panic it turned out, as 3 months after the news was first made public it was discovered that while still on the same course it would intersect and hit our outer moon rather than the planet.
Not so bad you'd think, and certainly I did (though I was still only 15 I must remind you, so things out in space weren't that big a concern compared to my teenage problems.) but after hitting out outer moon the force of the hit would send it on spiralling course inwards where it would collide with our inner moon and sending them both spiralling into the planet, but not for a couple of hundred thousand years so there wasn't a need to worry just yet.

More to be added, wip, underconstruction, etc etc.
The story is one I thought up on bus trips (2hrs a day) over the period of nearly two years. This was some 3/4 years ago, so i'm going over my notes and memorys changing and/or fleshing out the story as I go.
oh and that first paragraph needs reworking, but thats a job for tomorrow.
