battle report

Scuffle on the Ridge

Lt Wolfram took the field with his small band of soldiers. The field was cluttered with destruction it was hard for them to get a solid footing because of all the mayhem that surrounded them. What every happened here was still fresh, because you could still see the steam rising from the ground where the shields had hit. There were also faints egos of soldiers crying out, a lingering murmur of the murderous battle that had just took place.

As Lt. Wolfram surveyed the territory with his com officer on one-side and his tactical officer on the other he looked like a conductor. Conducting his men in what looked like a chaotic mess with man running all over the place but he conducted like a fine toned symphony. Within seconds of him entering the middle his men were where they needed to be. He was preparing to defend this small plot of land as long as it took for reinforcement come.

The Lt. knew that at any moment the enemy could attack. This was a key position for them. Lt. Wolfram took great dignity in the work he did. As the men dug themselves in, they had kick up what appeared to be a small dust storm. When the dusk started to settle Lt. Wolfram began he journey around to each of his man ensuring they were ready. As he checked on the men, his com officer and tactical officer stayed behind to prepare for the traitorous task that laid ahead.

The com officer make an effort to yell out to the Lt. but before he could form the words he need to express what was about to happen a deafen noise crammed into the small area popping the ears of the soldiers. Seconds latter, an enemy spy plane passed over at a low altitude appearing to be reconning the area. An area they were sure had been obliterated by their previous blast. While the rest of the man ducked because of reflexes as the plane passed over the Lt. stood tall and held his middle finger up to the pilot daring him to come down there to fight. The man looked on in astonishment.

Lt. Wolfram walked over to his two officers. Standing there, he surveyed the area turning three-hundred and sixty degrees obtaining a complete picture of the battlefield. Looking at his tactical officer, he made this statement “we’ll be flooded with enemy insurgents and bombarded with artillery shells” but with a smirk on his face he continued with “they won’t be ready for us.” He prepared his troops for the emanate battle that laid ahead.

Bullets began to pierce the deaf silence that had overcome the region. In the distance you could hear small explosion. With targeting devices equipped as standard equipment in the POS suit Lt. Wolfram’s men were able to amputate, the enemies attempt to bombard the area with artillery shells. All of a sudden silence had reclaimed the small area again. Quietly the soldiers that had positioned themselves in the taller building because of its vantage point who had been firing there pulse cannons seconds ago were vacating their positions.

Lt. Wolfram order that the smoke grenades be deployed. Within seconds the area was engulfed in his favorite colors, green and blue obscuring the vision of anyone who dared to enter the area. Lt. Wolfram then order that they all switch their helmets to infrared. As soon as they completed this, the square was flooded with enemy soldiers. From the Lt. position he was surrounded. Telling his troops to hold off he stood up. Yelling out at the insurgents to live or die gesturing that if they continued to come closer they’d all die. Thinking he was crazy, they raised their firearms preparing to fire. And like that the battle began.

A flutter of bullets passed by the Lt. head coming from all directions none aimed at him. His soldiers had all begun to shoot. The soldiers that had the pulse cannons split up, each taking a corner of the square. Once in there new positions they light up the field making it look like a Christmas tree gone bad. Within seconds all of the insurgents had meet there death.

The Lt. laughed declaring that was just their attempt to recon that the real work still laid ahead. Knowing the direction of the attack the Lt. moved his man placing them directly in their path so that they’d take the brunt of the attack. Leaving three of his men behind to cover their rear he got into position.

The silence turned eerie this was the moment Lt. Wolfram’s man had been trained for. In a matter of moments they be over taken by at least two thousand troops. Well that’s what the Lt. wanted he felt that it wouldn’t be a challenge otherwise. His troops were trained to go against the odds. The two hundred of them were scattered about the field prepared to defy the enemy once again.

And without notice the Lt. had gotten his wish. The enemy being cocky decided to show their true force to the Lt. Bringing their prized mobile artillery units to the front line surrounded by several division of armed troops. Easily numbering in the thousands. The enemy was cocky because they knew that it was their mobile artillery unit that had changed the tide of the war in their favor. The Lt. stood up and laughed yelling out “This is what you brought to fight us. Is this it?”

You could see that the men were uneasy with the odds that they faced but found solace in watching their Lt.
