| Administrator | New Scifi-Meshes Contest! "The Meshies"! Dear Members, This month we have a double treat from you, not only do we have the Sensei's Christmas challenge but we also now present you with another opportunity to compete with your fellow members and this time, create a lasting icon for the site! The concept for this competition is simple: Early 2007 will see the start of a new tradition here at Scifi-Meshes - THE MESHIES - An annual awards ceremony in which all members will be entitled to vote on a variety of categories. Some examples of these may be "Best WIP Thread of 2006", "Best member in a supporting role", "Best original ship design" etc. What we're looking for: - A trophy to be used as an 800x600 render -but- also looks great as a small icon to be displayed proudly underneath the award winners avatar. It is vital that the design and render works well as a 150x150 icon (maximum size). - The design should look like an award, but the specifics are up to you; realistic, abstract, a figure, a spaceship, a nebula, or perhaps something far more interesting. Whatever you feel will work best at the given resolutions and also works with the theme of the site. - The finish should be gold, in the classic tradition of the Oscars, Baftas, etc. - The final render should be submitted by the 7th of January, 2007. What we don't want: - The Starship Enterprise sprayed gold on a wooden plinth, or a gold double ended lightsabre, William Shatner's laminated golden toupee, etc. Be original! We're re-opened the Contests forum under the 3D Modelling section of the forums index. Feel free to post your WIP's there...Final contest entries will also be posted there. This contest will be judged by the entire Scifi-Meshes staff. All the best and Good luck! SFM Staff |

| "Spooky" Mulder | Sounds cool I may not get the chance to enter the Sensai challenge so this is a good alternative.Do we need to post WIP threads for this? |

| I believe so - check the contest rules in the Competition Forum. I think Comco did specify something of the sort. |
| No question is a stupid question if you don't know the answer - If you need help (and you can find us), ask the (Sens)A-Team. Personal website (updated, Mar 2007) :: Industrial-meshes.com :: Professional website (Updated, Feb 2007) | |
