‘battlestar’ To The Big Screen

I went to one of the Dallas showings.
It was nice to see Razor 2 weeks early, since its been what seems forever since the end of Season 3.
2 hours before the doors opened, me, my wife, and my brother in law entered and came to a basic folding table concierge where we checked our names we signed with, and provided ID. We joined about 10 people already in line before us, and saw the line grow to capacity for both theaters. The funny thing is, my wife, who isn't a real big fan, she watches it when I watch it, if there nothing else to do, kinda ribbed em for wanting to go early, and learned almost the hard way that we had barely beaten the serious crowd.
But. when they let us into the theater the movie was already playing and about half way through the movie. About 10 -20 people refused to go into the theater until it had stopped which caused a traffic jam at the doorway. Apparently it was a Satelite feed so they couldnt do anything about it. It went on maybe 15 minutes, but I assure you it was a long 15 minutes. We suggested covering the camera, and muting the sound, but about then it ceased, and we rejoiced. The official reason had been that they had to test transmission, quality, and reception, which makes sense.
It was endorsed/hosted by an Xbox 360 game called Mass Effect. So instead of trailers, which we may have seen 1 or 2, I dont recall, we saw commercials for Mass Effect. I didnt mind that so much as the Awkward intermission half way through the movie to show us the same trailer we had seen at the beginning. Pretty lame.
When we left, we half expected to et a demo of mass Effect, but not joy. Not so much as a souvenir.
All in all it seems like a potential entity for marketing was wasted. It was just a movie, and one I could see in my home in 2 weeks... if I could wait that long, which I couldnt. I would have turned it more into a "to do" offering pins, or collector cups, or posters, or t shirts, the normal swag. I was hoping for more "event"

I saw Razor on the 24th as well, and it didn't seem to me I saw anything different on the 12th, but Apparently there was alot of stuff omitted. Caine as a young girl, And young Adama finding out more about the cylons.

OH and I almost forgot. One guy, who was directly behind me in line, when we passed through the opening gate, took off at a run to assure he had a good seat. I didnt catch him until it was too late, which is too bad because Im one guy who would tell him to wait in line like every one else, but Karma jumped in, and on his way up the steps,he slipped and fell face down, forcing everyone behind him to laugh, mostly out of "thats what ya get".
