In the second season of Mutant X, this lab space appeared and served many a purpose. Quite obviously, it was a redress of the Genomex set from the first season...from a standpoint of storylines, it makes sense to assume that Adam might build part of sanctuary to resemble his former workplace at Genomex, since some of the same technology might come into play.
