I designed and submitted this particularly to the Fleet Commander HW2 mod. there are two variants shown here, the larger drawings to the left and the slightly smaller one to the top right.



I was inspired by the Cylon's 'red eye,' their technologically advanced nature, and how 'evil and 'insidious' my impression of them are.



It's a clam-like shape based off the cylon base star, with two halves encompassing like eyelids a powerful fusion plasma beam thingy weapon that can potentially slice a battlestar in two (such as the broken battlestar appearing over Caprica in the mini-series)



It is approximately 1/6th the mass of a base star, and has no secondary weaponry aside from it's main cannon. It is essentially a mobile, laser-beam artillery platform, pretty much comparable to the Ion Frigate in HW2. Typically they would travel in groups of two, three or sixes around a base star or with raider escort.



There has been some debate on would the Cylons use beam technology, even so, they are much more technologically advanced than the Colonials and I felt such a weapon as this would be in the nature of the Cylons and how they are such a... ' big, sleek, mysterious, evil machine'
