The CH-4(II) is a large warship employed by the Calemenae to destroy the capital warships of their Mission enemies. The CH-4(II) is best deployed in a large fleet engagement where it can bring its considerable firepower to bear on as many enemy warships as possible. Heavy armor and shielding combine to make the CH-4(II) a very difficult ship to destroy. The CH-4(II) was completed in late Jul, 2005 and was posted on SFM in early Aug, 2005.

Out of all your designs so far, this one is my personal favorite. This ship looks like it's ready to fight! The text though is still hard to read.

Yes, I think the gallery shrank the picture. The full size image is legible, I assure you.

Thanks for the positive feedback, enyaliosavatar. I agree with your statement about the innate awesomeness of pencil art. I particularily love the flexibility of pencil drawing for things like shadowing and gradients.

I personally think this is your most well planned out design. The structure of the ship seems to be very logical and planned out, like a warship should. The pointed bow section provides the maximum line of sight for the forward guns which suits a cruiser perfectly. I would like to see a dreadnaught for this universe and a carrier as well. Kudos though on a very interesting, original design.

I'm glad you like it, the CH-4(II) took long enough to draw, let me tell you. With the Calmenae ships, I designed them with dorsal and ventral hemispheres of firepower and a flat, sharp profile lends itself well to maximizing coverage that way. I don't have any dreadnaughts under development (although my designation scheme does allow for it). I do have a carrier WIP, the MCA-1A for my Mission faction, but it won't be complete for quite a while. In the meantime, look for the MCR-4C cruiser for the Mission, which I hope to finish soon.
