Daedalus Class Rewritten I'm working on a Daedalus class bridge for the interior design competition over at Subspace Comms Network. I've never liked the accepted "canon" for the Daedalus. Thankfully, it's never been stated on screen that the sphere & tin can design is actually the Daedalus class. Not that Greg Jein isn't a great modeler I just think that he, and the Trek Encyclopedia, etc. took the Jefferies pathfinding concept sketches for the Enterprise too literally. It was, after all, only a concept sketch and not the finished ship. Anyway, I needed a line drawing of the exterior for interior displays so I whipped up a more finished version, quick & dirty like. I maintained the overall proportions and shape of the accepted canon ship and Jefferies sketches but wedged it into the lineage between the NX and Constitution classes (BTW, I absolutely love the forward swept nacelle pylons that Jefferies included in the original sketch.). So, here she is, Daedalus rewritten: ![]() If y'all are interested in more you*can check out the floor plan WIP and eventual isometric drawing over in the SCN Artwork & Design forum. The other entries are starting to shape up to be pretty interesting too, particularly BorgMan's "Starfleet Centre for Stellar Cartagrophy."

Very nice! I've always thought the Daedalus needed some refining as well, and your pass at it looks great. Please say you'll finish this up with color!

Thanks, BJ! Oh, if I only had the time. The competition deadline is the 28th. The isometric drawing of the bridge will be in color. After this I want to get back to the KV class. But maybe, sometime after I get more done on that I'll render this in color.

| SFM Nugget | She's a beaut! Great job with keeping the overall design idea of the ship, but updating the certain details that just makes the ship more likable. Can't wait to see what's next. Cheers. |

Looks great. I especially like the work you've done on the stardrive section, you've managed to put it together in a very original way that looks very unique compared to some of the other Daedalus (re)designs I've seen. I'll second the thought that it'd be a shame if some colours weren't added at some point in the future.
