Once again, i make the Daedalus 470m, and the Prometheus 270m.
It's only speculative, but it looks right to me based on my own observation:
Bar, you know it's funny you came up with 270m for the Prometheus. I used the doors that were shown in the episode "Prometheus" and "Prometheus Unbound" as my measure point, since we know how wide they were, IE, the walkway connecting to the doors was close to the camera, AND ironically enough, the light fixtures that you can see through the windows of the Prometheus in the namesake episode. Those things only come so large, 3 feet by 6 feet is the biggest they get. And since the windows you can see them through are smaller, we have an approximate size of the windows. And you can go from there. And I came up with 288 meters long, actually, 287.8 meters to be exact.

You know, the more I think about what Bruce W. said to ZakeD in that e-mail, the more I think it's not as straight forward as it appears to be. First he says he's not at liberty to say what the dimensions are, then goes on to say that it is slightly more than 700 meters long? Isn't that kinda taking the liberty that he supposedly doesn't have? I smell something fishy there. Can you say Red Herring? I was going to say something about Paris Hilton being around because of the smell, but thought it too impolite. **snicker**

As some of you may know, I've been updating my Prometheus mesh to include more details, similar to the Ethon version of Prometheus. The image below shows the ship under WIP lighting and TV style lighting.

Bar.
Despite not looking like that in some episodes, it is the only canon figure we have. If they say a ship is 700 meters long, and it appears 400 in one episode, the canon length is still 700 meters long. Scaling it at 470 based on plotholes is fanwank even if it fits with what we sometimes see in the show. We have seen the Daedalus being this big before though.

Forgive the crappy picture. Can't get better ones until stargatecaps comes back online.

That ship is awesome. A lot of improvement since the first Argo.

have a look at that daedalus class it is closer to the camera, nad it cant be 700 meters if the promie is only 287.8 because the 304's have the same basic stracture and in the one somone says this in a better way

Thanks to Scootes and Choo1701 for the help the Severus CFS-311 so far.

Actually, no, that is wrong IMHO. What is in the show is the canon, not the SFX supervisor's words. IF the Show's producer had said so, then yes, but not the SFX guy. He works for a different company, not for the show itself. Now, if the SFX guy had said that a Goa'uld Ha'Tak mothership was 10KM wide, would you believe him? You are a fool if you would. Everything we've seen in the eps disproves that. And NO, the deddy class has NEVER looked that big in ANY episode except one, "Camalot". And your screencap is from "Camalot" isn't it Zake? Not a good episode to use as an example. Just so that you know, a large part of the SFX were NOT done by Rainmaker in that episode, they were done "in house". And they screwed up some things, like the Asgard ship smaller than the Odyssey and Ha'Tak. Since then however, everything has been fine. I'll let them slide for their mistakes in Camalot, it was the first episode they did the SFX in-house after all.

And Zake, it's NOT plotholes or fanwank. The episodes are the canon, not some schmuck with persistant inconsistancies at the other end of an e-mail. More than one person has taken time to actually make measurements of things. They all have been consistant with eachother and with what has been seen on screen in every episode except Camalot. What's fanwank is putting 200 rail guns, 90 F-302's , 400 Anti-Ori weapons and 10 puddle jumpers on a 700 meter ship. Despite what Mr. Inconsistant Bruce has said, I don't believe the Daedalus class is 700 meters long. That number is inconsistant with the established canon of the show. I'll believe it when it is said onscreen in an ep or by the show's producers. Until then, the Deddy class is around 450 meters.

It's from Camelot, but it looks that big in Flesh and Blood also.
