Cinema4d Galor & Keldon class cruiser

I drifted away from 3D for a while again... rather than get back into it with by finishing off the BoP, I decided to have a crack at this wee thingy that I've been meaning to do for a while now. (Fear not, the BoP is much too far in to be abandoned now )

I started this off by using the plans available on the net (Fact Files stuff)... then quickly discovered that somehow they managed an amazing feat of draughting by making the top and bottom views have completely different outlines... and to top it off, the side view matched neither So I ditched those and stitched the very near-ortho photos on Starship Modeller together and am now working from those - can't beat the real thing. Obviously there's a bit of perspective distortion, but with 3 views to work off you can iron most of that out quite nicely.

So anyway, here we go - far too early for a first render really, but that's me Then again, there's not a lot more to the basic hull shape than this. I'll build the extra bits to make her into a Keldon at the end as well, just for fun

Good start Martok, the shape looks approximately right to me Now detail the hell out of it, and add more orange

Visit my Endless Pluto Station project, I'm still working on it, honest!

Nice, I started one of these myself a few years back, working of a kit.

I think its one of the few survived the various hard drive crashes and DVD burner failures that have plagued my back ups

Looks ****, and you still need to finish DS0- one Cardassian at a time, and all that.

*runs*

Good start mate- looking forward to viewing all of these projects together in one scene one day... probably on a quantum computer the size of my thumbnail.....

Here comes the water, It comes to wash away the sins of you and I.
This time you see- like holy water, it only burns you faster than you'll ever dry.

It'll be on a nano computer, and we'll all be dead by then

Anyway, here's a smidgen more... basic hull shape I consider to be locked down now and am starting on the first level of detailing

[Edit] Immediately after saying that, I made the wings a little thinner
